Diablo 4 Season 8: Belial’s Return Plagued by Platinum Bugs and Battle Pass Issues!
Diablo 4's highly anticipated Season 8, "Belial's Return," launched on April 29th, but the celebration has quickly turned sour for many players. While the promise of wielding boss-inspired powers and battling the Lord of Lies himself ignited excitement, a wave of bugs and issues surrounding the new Reliquary Battle Pass system has left fans frustrated and demanding fixes!
The biggest issue plaguing Season 8 is a Platinum deduction bug. Players are reporting that purchasing the new Reliquary Battle Pass results in their Platinum balance being reduced, but they don't receive the pass or the associated rewards. This means players are essentially losing in-game currency without getting anything in return!

"Hey folks thanks a ton for sharing. We’re investigating this issue with Reliquaries not showing/functioning properly at this time. Apologies for the inconvenience, we’ll keep you all informed asap on any updates," Blizzard posted on the official Diablo 4 forums, acknowledging the widespread problem.
Adding fuel to the fire, some players are also reporting issues with previously purchased cosmetics from prior Battle Passes being missing from their character wardrobes. This means that items players have already paid for and earned are no longer accessible. Blizzard have now dropped a hotfix to address the Platinum deduction associated with the new Battle Pass system. They have also confirmed that this only impacted a subset of the player base and was directly related to how the new system interacts with legacy Battle Pass entitlements. It is now safe to purchase the new Reliquary systems and claim rewards.

The transition to the new Reliquary system itself has also caused confusion and anger. Players who held onto unused Battle Passes from previous seasons, expecting to redeem them later, are now finding that they can no longer do so. This effectively negates any prior purchases and creates frustration for players who planned to utilize those passes in Season 8.
Despite the rocky start, "Belial's Return" does offer some exciting content. Players can look forward to wielding powers inspired by iconic bosses, engaging in new world events like Apparition Incursions to battle Belial's ghostly minions, and facing Belial himself as a new endgame boss.
The season also brings a collaboration with the world of Berserk, featuring themed cosmetics available through gameplay or purchase. Completing the Season Journey unlocks a unique pet, Iris, a hairless cat with (disturbingly) numerous eyes.
With so many issues surfacing so quickly, it remains to be seen how Blizzard will address these problems and restore faith in the new season. Will they quickly fix the Platinum deduction bug and restore missing cosmetics? Will they offer a solution for players unable to redeem their old Battle Passes? The Diablo community is watching closely and demanding action.
