The wait is almost over! Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, its highly anticipated slim smartphone. After numerous teasers and leaks, the company is set to fully unveil the device on May 13th at 9 AM Korea time (May 12th in the US). This announcement marks a significant step for Samsung, aiming to revitalize the mobile industry with this innovative device.

Samsung's official invite teases the Galaxy S25 Edge as "more than a slim smartphone," emphasizing "every curve, contour, and component" as a testament to "a breakthrough in precise engineering." The phone will deliver a premium experience, living up to the renowned S series' standards. A core feature of this will be the 200MP main sensor promising a pro-grade camera experience enhanced by the advanced AI features that we are already familiar with from the Galaxy S25 family.

Allison Johnson, a tech reviewer highlights the importance of the Galaxy S25 Edge launch. Samsung is not being shy about naming the device, touting it as setting "a new standard" and unlocking "a new era of growth for the mobile industry". This statement suggests that Samsung anticipates that the device will help the sales figures increase. Moreover, despite the sleek design, the S25 Edge includes the flagship level 200MP camera from the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

According to leaks and reports, the Galaxy S25 Edge will feature a 6.7-inch AMOLED display, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chip, and come with 12GB of RAM. Storage options include 256GB and 512GB variants. Battery capacity may be around 3,800mAh. It is expected to weigh 163 grams.
