Acer Unveils the Future of Monitors at Computex 2025: Dual-Screen Portables, High-Refresh Gaming, and More

Computex 2025 has become the battleground for innovative monitor technology, and Acer is leading the charge. From groundbreaking portable displays to high-performance gaming screens, Acer's unveils are signaling a significant shift in how we view and use monitors. Let's dive into the highlights of their monitor showcases that promises to redefine both our portable and desktop viewing experiences.

Dual-Screen Portable Monitors Take Center Stage:

Forget the limitations of single-screen portable monitors. Acer has unveiled the PD243Y E, a twin-panel marvel featuring two lusty 23.5-inch 1080p displays stacked for ultimate productivity. In short, this portable monitor is reminiscent of the ZenScreen Duo, but pumped up in a big way. Designed for multitaskers and knowledge workers, this device offers a unique multidisplay workstation that can be easily stowed away. John Burek, Executive Editor and PC Labs Director, notes that these hinges are stiff and the redundancy helps, making the PD243Y E seemed stable during hands-on experience. The PD243Y E supports both USB-C and mini-HDMI input, offering you flexibility when connecting devices.

For Content Creators: The ProCreator Series

Acer's ProCreator line is getting a boost with the PE320QXT, a 32-inch monitor boasting a stunning 6K resolution (6,016 x 3,384 pixels). Its smaller sibling, the PE270XT, offers a still-impressive 5K resolution (5,120 x 2,880 pixels). Both monitors reproduce 99% of the DCI-P3 gamut and feature Delta E<1 color accuracy. The PE320QXT is touch-enabled and includes an integrated 8M webcam and flexible ErgoStand.

For OLED enthusiasts, the ProCreator PE320QK X provides a 4K UHD QD-OLED panel with true 10-bit color. This monitor supports dual color gamut (99% sRGB and DCI-P3), and features AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and Nvidia G-Sync Compatible technology which will make game creators drawn in by the PE320QK X’s features.

Gaming Monitors Hit New Heights:

Acer's Predator series is expanding with two new 27-inch OLED gaming monitors. The Predator X27U F5 delivers an ultra-fast 500 Hz refresh rate at 1440p, while the Predator X27 X offers 240 Hz at a super fine 4K resolution. Both feature AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for tear-free gaming and true 10-bit color.

The high refresh rate on the Predator X27U F5 is particularly notable with Samsung having just opened limited pre-orders of its 500Hz monitor over the weekend, which the company claimed was the first product to pair that refresh rate with OLED visuals in a gaming monitor. This screen’s refresh rate is aimed directly at the most hardcore gamers who demand every possible competitive edge.
