BitSummit 2025: Japan’s Indie Game Festival Announces Tickets and Exhibitors – A ‘Summer of Yokai’ Awaits!

BitSummit, Japan's premier indie game festival, is gearing up for its 13th edition, promising a vibrant showcase of creativity and innovation. Tickets are now available for BitSummit the 13th, scheduled to take place from July 18 to 20 at the Miyako Messe Exhibition Center in Kyoto. This year's theme, "Summer of Yokai," promises a unique and immersive experience, drawing inspiration from Japanese folklore and supernatural creatures.

The BitSummit Organization Committee has also announced the impressive list of sponsors and exhibitors for this year's event. Attendees can expect to see representatives from industry giants such as Nintendo, Sony Interactive Entertainment, and Cygames, alongside indie powerhouses like Devolver Digital and Pocketpair. The diverse exhibitor list guarantees a wide array of games and experiences for attendees to explore.

Tickets are available online, with separate "Business Tickets" for industry professionals on July 18 and "General Admission Tickets" for the public on July 19 and 20. Prices are ¥2000 ($13.80) in advance, or ¥2200 ($15.20) at the door for general admission. Students and children receive discounted or free entry. Overseas visitors can purchase tickets through a dedicated link providing information in English.

Building upon the success of previous years, BitSummit 2025 aims to connect Japanese indie game developers with a global audience. Last year's event attracted over 38,000 attendees, demonstrating the festival's growing influence and popularity. VGC will be providing daily coverage from the show floor, offering insights into the most exciting games and developments.

Screen Queensland is supporting developers with grants up to $3,000 to attend BitSummit, covering registration, travel, and accommodation. Recipients are also encouraged to attend IGEA’s Osaka World Expo networking event following the festival. This demonstrates the commitment to fostering connections and showcasing talent on an international stage.
