CMF by Nothing is shaking up the budget phone market with the launch of its new Phone 2 Pro and a trio of earbuds. This isn't just another product release; it's a statement that affordable doesn't have to mean boring. The CMF Phone 2 Pro aims to deliver a premium experience without the premium price tag. Sporting a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Pro chip, a vibrant 6.77-inch AMOLED screen capable of hitting 3000 nits of brightness, and a hefty 5000mAh battery, this phone is designed for power users on a budget. Clocking in at just 7.8mm thick and weighing 185g, the Phone 2 Pro is the thinnest and the lightest to date.
What sets this phone apart? Its distinct design. Unlike typical budget phones, the CMF Phone 2 Pro offers vibrant color options and an aluminum frame with stainless-steel details. The camera setup is also noteworthy, featuring a 50MP main camera promising 64% more light capture, along with a 20x digital zoom and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. A new triple-lens setup replaces a single module seen in previous models featuring in usual Black and White, Orange, and Light Green, though the standard model still remains unavailable. The IP54 rating further enhances its appeal over predecessor models.
Nothing is also pushing a modular design concept. The Phone 2 Pro includes modular add-ons like a screw-on case, kickstand-card wallet combo, lanyard, and swappable camera lenses. These modular features allow users to customize their phone. The addition of fisheye and a macro lens, sold a pair, can enhance the camera capabilities. However, requiring a cover to enable most of the modules may be considered an essential purchase if users want to take part in its modularity fully.
Earbuds for Every Ear: Alongside the Phone 2 Pro, CMF by Nothing also introduced three new earbud models:Buds 2, Buds 2 Plus, and Buds 2a. Each model targets a different user segment with varying features and price points. The Buds 2 are great for everyday use with Dirac Opteo, the Buds 2 Plus caters to the audiophiles as it comes with high-res audio with LDAC support, and the Buds 2a offers punchy bass for budget-conscious music lovers.
Pricing and Availability: Pre-orders for the new CMF Phone 2 Pro and earbuds began April 28, with full sales starting on May 6. The device can be purchased through nothing.tech and select retailers.
