Computex 2025: ASUS, Razer, and Acer Unleash Next-Gen Laptops

Computex 2025 has officially kicked off in Taipei, and the first day has seen a flurry of exciting announcements from major players in the PC market. If you've been waiting to upgrade your laptop, now might be the perfect time to check your bank balance. From sleek gaming powerhouses to enhanced everyday workhorses, ASUS, Razer, and Acer are showcasing their latest innovations, with a strong emphasis on performance, design, and AI integration.

ASUS stole the show with the unveiling of the new ROG Zephyrus G14 and G16 laptops. The G14, a compact 14-inch machine, boasts a stunning 3K display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support. It's powered by up to an AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card, making it a formidable gaming and content creation tool. ASUS is targeting gamers and professionals who need power on the go. According to ASUS the base model will retail for $1,800 beginning June 25.

The larger ROG Zephyrus G16, ups the refresh rate to 240Hz. They feature Intel Core Ultra 9 processors and up to NVIDIA RTX 5070 GPUs. According to ASUS the base model will retail for $2,150 beginning June 25.

ASUS is also refreshing the ROG Strix G16 and G18 models with options for both AMD or Intel CPUs and up to an RTX 5060. The G18 starts at $1,700 and the G16 starts at $1,500.

Razer is not one to be outdone. The updated Blade 14 laptops will feature RTX 5000 series cards while maintaining their signature thin and light design. These NVIDIA cards leverage the company’s DLSS 4 technology to deliver a top-tier gaming experience within a 14-inch form factor. In the larger size range, Blade 18 can be configured with an RTX 5090.

While details on Acer's offerings were less concrete, the company signaled its commitment to thermal innovation, hinting at advancements in thermal interface materials to keep their laptops running cool under pressure.

Besides the top-tier models, ASUS is bringing the RTX 5060 to more budget-friendly models like the TUF Gaming F16, A16 and A18. Notably, the ASUS TUF A14 has improved cooling.

The announcements from Computex highlight the ongoing trends in the laptop market: increased power and efficiency, integration of AI capabilities, slim profile in smaller systems, and a focus on immersive display technology. The RTX 5070 Ti is considered a sweet spot for some mid-range models.
