Crowned Zacian & Zamazenta Debut! Plus Shiny Munna & Morelull in Pokémon GO’s Serene Retreat Event
Pokémon GO is gearing up for a massive event, bringing both fan-favorite debuts and increased shiny chances! Prepare yourselves, Trainers, for the Serene Retreat event alongside Pokémon GO Fest 2025, kicking off a summer of exciting new content.
Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta are finally making their grand entrance during Pokémon GO Fest 2025! These upgraded forms of the Legendary Pokémon have been highly anticipated since their initial appearance in the game back in 2021.
Here's what you need to know to unlock their Crowned forms:
- You'll need a Zacian or Zamazenta with the charged move Iron Head.
- Collect 30 Candy (per Pokémon).
- Gather 1,000 Crowned Energy (Sword for Zacian, Shield for Zamazenta).
Crowned Energy can be obtained through:
- Five-Star Raids featuring Zacian and Zamazenta during Pokémon GO Fest.
- Ticketed Special Research Tasks during the Global event in late June.
- Early access for those attending GO Fest in Paris, Jersey City, or Osaka.
Once transformed, Zacian (Fairy-type) becomes Fairy/Steel-type as Crowned Sword, and Zamazenta (Fighting-type) transforms into Fighting/Steel-type as Crowned Shield. Each form gains stat boosts, exclusive moves – Behemoth Blade for Zacian and Behemoth Bash for Zamazenta – and visual upgrades.
But that's not all! The Serene Retreat event runs from Friday, May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 8:00 p.m. local time. This free-to-play event offers several exciting bonuses:
- Increased chance to encounter Shiny Munna and Shiny Morelull in the wild and research task rewards.
- The debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom in six-star Max Battles!
- Increased Max Particle collection limit to 1,600.
- 8x Max Particles from Power Spots.
The event also features:
- Specific Pokémon appearing more frequently in the wild.
- Event-themed Collection Challenges.
- Event-themed Field Research tasks.
- Paid Timed Research for US$1.99, offering encounters with Munna and Morelull, and Two Super Incubators.
Additionally, the Serene Retreat Ultra Ticket Box will be available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for US$1.99, including an event ticket and five Ultra Balls.
