"It's just a lot of work going through the vast expenses of the federal government... We find situations where there are millions of software licenses with zero people using them," Musk said.
Despite his departure, Musk expressed optimism for DOGE's future, predicting its influence would grow. "This is not the end of DOGE but really the beginning...The DOGE will only grow stronger with time," he stated. He estimates the potential for a trillion dollars in waste and fraud reduction over time. He also stated he will remain an advisor to the president.
