Galaxy Watch 8: Leaks Point to Squircle Design, Quick Button, and More!
Get ready for a potential shake-up in the smartwatch world! The upcoming Galaxy Watch 8 is generating buzz, and recent leaks suggest Samsung might be ditching its traditional circular design for a bold new "squircle" shape. But that's not all – an APK teardown has revealed other exciting features potentially heading to the next-gen wearable.
The information comes from a leaked One UI 8 Watch firmware, giving us a peek at what Samsung has been cooking up. Codenames "fresh8" and "wise8" are now associated with the Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, respectively.

According to the teardown from Android Authority, the Galaxy Watch 8 could arrive in two sizes (S and L), both sporting this new rounded square (squircle) look. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic might also adopt this shape, potentially in a single size. Could this be Samsung taking design cues from its robust Galaxy Watch Ultra?
Speaking of the Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may inherit another fan-favorite feature: a Quick Button. Animation files hint at subtle design differences between the models, including varying bezel sizes. However, it remains unknown if the Watch 8 Classic will retain the signature rotating bezel.

Beyond the design changes, code snippets also indicate that the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic might boast enhanced vibration patterns, mirroring the satisfying haptics of the Galaxy Watch Ultra. And if that wasn't enough, Samsung's Now Bar, already a part of One UI 7 on Android 15, appears to be making its way to Galaxy Watches with the One UI 8 Watch update. This intuitive feature will surface contextual data directly on the watch face, providing convenient access to relevant information at a glance.

Adding fuel to the fire, the Galaxy Watch 8 recently appeared at the FCC under model number SM-L335U (and SM-L335F). While the listing doesn't explicitly name it the "Galaxy Watch 8," it's described as a "Smart Wearable" with WiFi, Bluetooth, and NFC. The FCC has confirmed LTE, 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi, NFC, and Bluetooth 5.3, with signs pointing toward 10W charging.
