Google Gemini Unleashed: 8 Game-Changing Features Now Available
Google Gemini is stepping up its game with a suite of new features aimed at making it a more versatile and powerful AI assistant. Unveiled at Google I/O 2025, these updates range from enhanced image and video generation to deeper integration with other Google services, promising to significantly impact how users interact with AI. This comprehensive update addresses the growing demand for more personalized and proactive AI assistance.
New Google AI Plans: Pro and Ultra
Google is introducing two new subscription tiers: Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra. Google AI Pro, formerly the AI Premium plan, remains at $20 per month, offering higher rate limits and special features to complement the free version of Gemini. This plan includes access to the Gemini app (formerly Gemini Advanced), NotebookLM, and the new Flow AI video editor. College students in select countries can even get a free school year of Google AI Pro.
For power users, the Google AI Ultra plan offers the most powerful models, highest rate limits, and early access to experimental AI features like Agent Mode, a desktop-based tool that can carry out tasks for you. This premium plan comes at a hefty $250 per month, though first-time subscribers get 50% off for the first three months.
Gemini Live: Interactive AI Conversations

Gemini Live, the voice conversation mode, is now enhanced with screen and camera sharing for both Android and iOS users. This allows users to show Gemini what they're seeing and ask questions in real time, making it a more interactive and helpful tool. Integration with Google Maps, Calendar, Tasks, and Keep is also on the horizon, allowing Gemini Live to create calendar appointments or provide directions.
Imagen 4 and Veo 3: Next-Level Media Generation
Image generation gets a boost with Imagen 4, promising faster performance, more lifelike details, and better text output. Video generation is also upgraded with Veo 3, which now supports native audio generation, including character dialogue and background noises. Veo 3, however, is currently exclusive to Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US.
Canvas Enhancements and Interactive Quizzes
Google's Canvas tool gets more intuitive with the Gemini 2.5 model, allowing users to create code, design web pages, and develop visual content collaboratively. Additionally, Gemini can now create interactive quizzes on various topics, providing instant feedback and personalized follow-up questions to enhance learning.
Gemini-in-Chrome and Deep Research
Starting soon, Gemini will be integrated directly into Chrome, allowing users to analyze web pages and answer questions about content. This feature will be available to Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra subscribers in the US. The Deep Research mode now supports PDFs and images, allowing users to cross-reference their own files with online research for more comprehensive insights.
iPhone Users Rejoice: Gemini Live Comes to iOS

Perhaps the most exciting news is that Gemini Live, with its full capabilities, is now available on iPhone. Users can now access their camera and screen sharing features, enabling a wide range of interactive AI experiences. This move marks a significant step in making AI more accessible and integrated into everyday life, regardless of your operating system of choice. One user noted that having Gemini’s camera ability on iPhone is thrilling.
Previously, Gemini Live on iOS was unable to access your iPhone's camera, and couldn't see what you were doing on your screen. I/O 2025 changed all that.
With these updates, Google is solidifying Gemini's position as a leading AI assistant. The integration of new features and enhanced capabilities promises to transform how users interact with AI, making it more personal, proactive, and powerful.
