Helldivers 2: Super Earth Under Siege! New Illuminate Threats & Weapon Customization Deployed
Super Earth is facing a dire Galactic Emergency! The Illuminate, once a distant threat, have launched a full-scale invasion targeting Super Earth directly in Helldivers 2. This surprise offensive has forced Super Earth to unleash new weapons and tactics to defend its citizens.
The Illuminate Strike
Emerging from the Meridian singularity, the Illuminate have deployed a terrifying new arsenal. According to reports, these include:
- Stingrays: Jet fighters providing air support with devastating strafing runs.
- Crescent Overseers: Foes capable of unleashing barrages, even against Helldivers in cover.
- Fleshmobs: Horrifying Frankensteinian monsters composed of Voteless parts, representing a significant threat on the battlefield.
There are also rumors of even larger ships joining the Illuminate fleet, details of which remain shrouded in mystery.
Super Earth Strikes Back: Weapon Customization
To stand against the Illuminate's evolved forces, Super Earth's R&D is rolling out extensive weapon customization options. Helldivers can now fine-tune their primary weapons to an unprecedented degree. By completing missions, weapons gain levels, unlocking new attachments available through Requisition. Players can tailor everything from precision sights and ammo capacity to muzzles and even cosmetic patterns.
According to Arrowhead, "Most primary weapons now have levels that are achievable by completing missions, which then in turn unlock new attachments obtainable through Requisition." Through weapon customization, players can tweak Helldivers 2 weapons’ level of precision, ammo capacity, muzzles to optimize weapon performance, and cosmetics.
Old Warbonds, New Patterns, Expanded Surplus
In addition to weapon customization, players will gain access to a stash of patterns for the FRV themed on Viper Commandos, Freedom’s Flame, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers Warbonds. These patterns will unlock, along with the Masters of Ceremony Warbond.
Recognizing the urgent need to arm every Helldiver, Super Earth is also expanding the Superstore with an expanded Surplus. No more waiting for the items come back into rotation now the items players want are always available, armor the Helldivers with items they might have missed the first time around.
