iRacing Season 3 Heats Up with GT3 Overhaul, New Tracks, and More!
Get ready to rev your engines! iRacing Season 3 is set to launch with a massive wave of updates, improvements, and fresh content that promises to redefine the sim racing experience. From a complete overhaul of the GT3 class to the addition of new tracks and enhancements to existing ones, this season is packed with exciting changes that will keep sim racers on the edge of their seats.

GT3 Revolution: Setting a New Standard
The highlight of Season 3 is undoubtedly the comprehensive redevelopment of the entire GT3 class. iRacing is making a bold claim, asserting that they are "setting the standard for GT3 racing in the entire sim racing landscape." What makes this overhaul so special?
First, the tires have been completely revamped, with new dry and wet compounds engineered for greater resilience to slides and improved temperature management. According to iRacing, a single slip-up won't ruin your entire run anymore, and you'll need to be more patient on those initial laps to bring the tires up to optimal temperature. The aerodynamic model has also been completely reworked and all existing GT3 setups won't be compatible.
New Tracks and Rescanned Favorites
Prepare to explore new virtual landscapes with the addition of Shell V-Power Motorsport Park, also known as "The Bend," located in South Australia. This track offers seven racing configurations, including the massive 7.77km GT Circuit.

iRacing is also giving existing tracks a major facelift with rescans and remodels. Iowa Speedway, Richmond Raceway, Sonoma Raceway, Worldwide Technology Raceway, Charlotte Motor Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway will be rescanned and upgraded, to reflect recent changes in the real world racing facilities.
IndyCar, NASCAR, and Ferrari: More Racing Variety
Formula car fans have cause for cheer. The IR18 has a new steering wheel, tweaked setup range limits, an available barge board and updated tire feedback. The Gen4 NASCAR Cup cars, including the 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Ford Taurus, are also being added to the mix.

But wait, there's more! The Ferrari 296 Challenge is joining the lineup. The 296 Challenge will be raced in our Ferrari 296 Challenge series, which will be retooled to feature this car rather than the 296 GT3 car. This series is raced at the D level.
Enhanced Features and Ongoing Development
iRacing continues to push the boundaries of realism with improved rain systems, VR Foveated rendering and updated AI. The sim's VR support is also getting a boost with the release of quad-view fixed foveated rendering support for RTX2000+ Nvidia GPUs.
Don't worry, even with this release, iRacing will be continuing to improve the sim. A new Sim UI, a New Rendering Engine, and a Career Mode are all said to be in development in the future.
The Road Ahead
With so many updates and improvements on the horizon, iRacing Season 3 is shaping up to be a game-changer for sim racing enthusiasts. The promise of a more realistic and engaging experience, coupled with the addition of exciting new content, will no doubt keep racers returning to the track for more.
