Live Like James Bond: Sean Connery’s ‘Bond Villa’ on the French Riviera Relisted with a Price Cut
Ever dreamed of living like James Bond? Now you have a chance, but it'll cost you. The iconic French Riviera villa, famously known as the 'Bond Villa', once owned by the legendary Sean Connery, has returned to the market. This stunning property, where Connery resided with his wife Micheline Roquebrune in the 1970s and 80s, offers a rare glimpse into a life of luxury and cinematic history.
Located in Nice and officially named Villa Roc Fleuri, the estate boasts breathtaking views overlooking the port of Nice and Cap d’Antibes. Described as having arguably the most spectacular view in Nice, this Art Deco gem is steeped in history and Hollywood glamour
First listed in 2020, the villa has been taken off the market temporarily. Now priced at approximately $26.4 million (around £20 million), a roughly $7 million discount from its previous listing, it represents a unique opportunity for those seeking an opulent lifestyle.
Villa Roc Fleuri, originally built in 1930, spans over 10,000 square feet and is packed with original architectural details. Think intricate mosaic inlays, detailed wood paneling, ceiling moldings, and even the original elevator cabin. These features evoke a classic 007 vibe and transport you back to the era of timeless elegance.
Chuck McKee of Savills highlights, "Roc Fleuri is undoubtedly the most desirable property in Nice right now and always has been – the sheer size and proportions of the villa, its rich history, and the location just above the waterline puts it in a category of its own."
The main house features five bedrooms and five bathrooms, including a luxurious top-floor primary suite with dual en-suite bathrooms and access to panoramic terraces. The estate also boasts a spa complete with a gym, and an indoor/outdoor heated infinity pool that feels like it's overflowing into the sea, according to McKee.
The property includes a separate caretaker’s residence and a guesthouse divided into two apartments, offering flexibility for guests or staff. The current owners, who purchased the property in 2015, have modernized the existing systems. They’ve “overhauled everything,” McKee said, noting upgrades to the central heating and cooling systems, bathrooms and landscaping.
Beyond the villa itself, Nice offers an attractive lifestyle. The French Riviera city has re-emerged as a premier luxury destination, attracting Parisians and international visitors alike. With revitalized historic buildings, new hotels and restaurants plus excellent international travel connections, Nice's appeal is undeniable.
Sean Connery's legacy extends beyond the silver screen. Villa Roc Fleuri embodies the glamour, elegance and history intertwined with the world's most famous spy. More than just a home, it's a unique opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history. Is this the idyllic location for your next chapter?
