Nintendo Switch 2 Leaks Intensify: Early Access Footage Reveals Boot Sequence and Menu Settings
The Nintendo Switch 2, slated for launch on June 5th, is already making waves online thanks to a series of leaks revealing key details about the upcoming console. Anticipation is sky-high, and these early glimpses are fueling the excitement even further. But what exactly has been revealed, and what does it mean for eager gamers?
One major leak comes from a Russian Telegram channel, Pops & Culture, which managed to obtain a unit ahead of the official launch. The channel posted a video showcasing the Nintendo Switch 2 being turned on for the first time, revealing the initial boot sequence and navigation through the setup screen. This is a significant moment as it's the first tangible look at the console's startup.

Another early player uploaded a nearly 10-minute video, offering a deeper dive into the console's menu settings. According to this leaker, the menu themes are limited to black and white, HDR calibration exists in handheld mode, and the firmware version is 19.0.0.0. The available storage clocks in at 221GB. However, features like Game Share are reportedly non-functional without a day-one update. This mirrors a similar situation with the original Switch, where early units required a patch to unlock full functionality.
The leaker bravely sacrificed his reputation to show the features and capabilities of the console. As one YouTube commenter noted, "Respects to this man for sacrificing his life to unbox the console a week before launch."
Interestingly, despite the console nearing its release date, securing a pre-order remains a challenge. While stock in the U.S. is scarce, the U.K. seems to be faring better. Currys in the U.K. still offers Switch 2 bundles, though only as part of pricier packages exceeding £550. These bundles, however, include valuable extras like the Switch 2 Camera and microSD Express cards.
Retailers like Target, Best Buy, Walmart, and GameStop are expected to have limited in-store stock on launch day. GameStop, in particular, will also accept online orders, while GameStop and Best Buy are planning midnight launches for pre-order customers and those hoping to snag a console without a pre-order.
These leaks are reminiscent of the original Switch launch, with former Nintendo marketing manager Kit Ellis describing the internal reaction to pre-launch leaks as "code red." While the Switch 2 is seen as a more straightforward upgrade compared to its predecessor, the intense scrutiny and hype surrounding its release are undeniable.
Will Nintendo be able to contain further leaks before the official launch? And more importantly, will the day-one update deliver on the promise of a fully functional and captivating gaming experience? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comments below!
