NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Listed Below $300, Promising Budget Gaming Revolution?
The gaming world is buzzing with anticipation as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, the entry-level model in the new Blackwell lineup, has been spotted with a price tag below $300. This marks the first time a Blackwell GPU has been listed at such an accessible price point, sparking excitement among budget-conscious gamers.
BestBuy recently published a product page for the PNY RTX 5060 OC edition, revealing a price of $299. This factory-overclocked card boasts an all-black design with a dual-fan cooling system and promises a boost clock of up to 2.54 GHz. While preorders aren't yet available and stock availability remains unconfirmed, the listing signals an imminent launch, potentially around May 19th, coinciding with the Computex expo.

The RTX 5060 is expected to feature the GB206 GPU with 3,840 CUDA cores, representing a significant upgrade over its predecessor, the RTX 4060. The new card also incorporates faster GDDR7 memory to noticeably increases the memory bandwidth from 272 GB/s on the RTX 4060 to about 448 GB/s on the RTX 5060, ensuring noticeable performance uplifts.
One potential concern revolves around the 8GB memory capacity and the possible use of a PCIe x8 interface. Some speculate this might lead to performance bottlenecks, particularly on systems using PCIe 4.0. However, NVIDIA has yet to officially confirm these specifications.
Adding fuel to the fire, early benchmark results for RTX 5060 laptops have surfaced. While the GeekBench OpenCL scores should be taken with a grain of salt, they suggest an 14-22% performance increase compared to the RTX 4060 laptop GPU. These laptops, equipped with chips showing clock speeds of 2,025 MHz and 2,212 MHz, are expected to hit the market next month.

NVIDIA claims RTX 5060 laptops will start at $1,099. While the actual retail price may vary upon launch, the RTX 5060 promises to shake up the budget gaming segment, offering a compelling blend of performance and affordability.
Will the RTX 5060 live up to the hype and deliver a true budget gaming revolution? What are your expectations for this new GPU? Share your thoughts and predictions in the comments below!
