Oblivion Remastered Modding Scene Explodes: Reaching 1,000 Mods Faster Than Skyrim!

The modding community is at it again, and this time, they've set a new record! Oblivion Remastered has become the fastest game to reach 1,000 mods on Nexus Mods, outpacing even the legendary Skyrim Special Edition. This explosion of creativity highlights the enduring appeal of Bethesda games and the dedication of modders eager to enhance their gaming experiences.

According to data, Oblivion Remastered achieved this milestone in just 6 days, 19 hours, and 36 minutes, a whopping 22 hours faster than Skyrim Special Edition. To date, the game has received over 1,850 mods, averaging around 123 mods per day since its launch on April 22nd. This is despite the game not officially supporting modding, a testament to the community's ingenuity.

Part of this surge in modding activity can be attributed to the work of prolific modders like ‘Halk Hogan’, known for his HD Reworked Projects for The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. He’s already released several mods for Oblivion Remastered, including:

  • High-quality skins for all characters, improving body details for both male and female characters (excluding Argonians and Khajiits).
  • 8K body textures for the Imperial race, adding incredible detail to their appearance.
  • Reworked face textures that make characters appear smoother and younger.

Halk Hogan himself recommends using his face texture mod in conjunction with the RHQS Mod for the best results, showcasing the collaborative nature of the modding community.

The rapid pace of mod creation for Oblivion Remastered isn't expected to continue forever, but it signifies the community's initial rush to address the most pressing or requested enhancements. While Virtuos are working on the first official patch, players are proactively enhancing the game themselves. Expect tweaks to everything from graphics to gameplay mechanics.

Before Oblivion Remastered, **Skyrim Special Edition** held the record, achieving 1000mods in 7 days, 17 hours and 30 minutes. Modern titles such as Starfield and Fallout 4 also rank among the fastest-modded games, reaching the milestone in under two weeks. The original Oblivion took around 100 days to reach 1,000 mods.

The success of Oblivion Remastered's modding scene raises interesting questions. What are you hoping to see modded in Oblivion Remastered? What are the must-have mods? Share your thoughts and recommendations in the comment section below!
