OnePlus 13s Set to Debut Globally: Compact Powerhouse with a Twist
OnePlus is gearing up to launch its highly anticipated compact phone, the OnePlus 13s, on June 5th. The device isn't just for India; a global release is expected. This launch is significant because it offers a powerful, compact alternative to larger flagship phones, potentially disrupting the market with its high-end specs and competitive pricing.
The OnePlus 13s is widely believed to be a rebranded version of the OnePlus 13T, which launched in China. While the core specifications are expected to remain similar, OnePlus is likely to introduce some tweaks for international audiences, most notably in color options. The Chinese version came in Black, Pink, and Grey, while the 13s is rumored to arrive in Black, Pink, and Green.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s is expected to pack a punch with the same Snapdragon 8 Elite chip found in the Galaxy S25 lineup. OnePlus might offer configurations with up to 16 GB of RAM and a whopping 1 TB of storage, a remarkable offering for a compact phone in this price range. As a "compact flagship smartphone" it’s being equipped with a 4400mm² vapor chamber heatsink, and a unique cooling layer on the back to keep the surface temperatures low.
Despite its smaller size, the OnePlus 13s doesn’t skimp on features. It boasts a 6.32-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2640 x 1216 resolution. A massive 6,260mAh battery coupled with 80W fast charging support ensures stellar battery life. As for camera specifications, here’s what you can expect:
- 50 MP main with OIS
- 50 MP telephoto
- 16 MP selfie
One notable change is the replacement of the classic Alert Slider with a new button called the Plus Key. This Plus Key made its debut on the OnePlus 13T is "intelligent and customizable" and functions similarly to the iPhone's Action Button, allowing users to program it to perform various actions like opening the camera, toggling the flashlight, or enabling silent mode.

While pricing details are still under wraps, the OnePlus 13T launched in China for around $466, hinting at a similarly aggressive price point for the OnePlus 13s.
The introduction of the Plus Key is generating buzz. OnePlus teased its functionality, showcasing options to change ringer modes, activate Do Not Disturb, open the camera, turn on the flashlight and incorporate AI feature. While the UI appears strikingly similar to the iPhone's Action Button, OnePlus claims its own UI for customization and teases deeper AI integration.
With its combination of high-end hardware, sleek design, and potentially affordable price, the OnePlus 13s is poised to be a strong contender in the compact phone market.
