OnePlus 13T: No US or Europe Release, but Hope for India with OnePlus 13s

OnePlus fans in the US and Europe may be disappointed. Despite the buzz around the new OnePlus 13T, the company has confirmed that it won’t be available in these regions. This news leaves consumers with fewer options, particularly for those seeking a more compact device. However, the story doesn’t end there, as the phone is expected to make its way to India, rebranded as the OnePlus 13s. Let's dive into what's happening with this intriguing phone.

Allison Johnson, a tech reviewer with extensive experience, reported that OnePlus spokespeople confirmed the news to The Verge, dashing hopes for a US and European release. While the OnePlus 13T won't be directly available, its features might live on in a different form elsewhere.

Why the disappointment? The OnePlus 13T stands out for its relatively smaller size in today's world of ever-growing smartphones. With a 6.3-inch screen, it's noticeably more compact than the OnePlus 13 and 13R, which boast screens around 6.8 inches. What's more, this smaller package manages to pack a larger capacity battery, thanks to updated silicon-carbon technology. This combination of size and battery life makes it a compelling option for many.

While the OnePlus 13T is unavailable in the US and Europe, India might be getting a similar device. OnePlus India has begun teasing the launch of a product called the OnePlus 13s, and all signs point to it being a rebranded OnePlus 13T. Teaser images and captions like “Powered up, sized down” suggest that the OnePlus 13s will retain the compact design and powerful internals of the OnePlus 13T.

The OnePlus 13s is expected to feature a 6.32-inch 1.5K 8T LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with an Adreno 830 GPU. Storage options could include up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Camera-wise, expect a dual-camera setup with a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary shooter and a 50MP 2x telephoto lens. A 16MP front camera is also anticipated.

Notably, the OnePlus 13s is rumored to house a massive 6260mAh battery and support 80W fast charging. Running on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15, it may also feature a physical key, dual stereo speakers, a metal frame, and IP65-rated water and dust resistance.

While the absence of the OnePlus 13T in the US and Europe is a letdown, the potential arrival of the OnePlus 13s in India offers a glimmer of hope for those seeking a powerful yet compact smartphone. Will the OnePlus 13s live up to the hype, and will OnePlus consider a global release in the future?
