Overwatch 2 and Gundam Wing Collide: A Mech-tacular Collaboration!
Get ready to pilot your favorite Overwatch 2 heroes in a whole new way! Blizzard Entertainment is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam Wing with an epic crossover event that brings the iconic anime mechs to the hero shooter.
Starting April 29, 2025, players can dive into the Overwatch 2 Gundam Wing event and unlock a plethora of free and paid cosmetics inspired by the legendary mecha anime. This collaboration is more than just a skin swap; it's a passion project that brings together two beloved universes.

What's Free?
For players who love Gundam but don't want to spend real money, there are plenty of free goodies to earn during the event. By completing challenges, players can earn:
- Player Titles: "Shinigami" and "Perfect Soldier"
- Voice Lines for Reaper, Mercy, and Ramattra
- Sprays for Mercy and Rammatra
- A Gundamari Weapon Charm
- XP rewards
Paid-For Cosmetics: Suit Up!
The main attraction of the event is the four cosmetic bundles available for purchase, each featuring a different Mobile Suit. The skins and their respective heroes are:
- Mercy: Gundam Wing Zero
- Reaper: Deathscythe
- Soldier 76: Tallgeese
- Ramattra: Epyon

Each bundle includes a skin, highlight intro, player icon, name card, and two voice lines. The Reaper Deathscythe Bundle also comes with a Victory Pose. Individual bundles cost 2,800 Overwatch coins (around $28), while a mega bundle containing all four is priced at 5,900 coins (around $59).
Art director Dion Rogers emphasized the team's passion for the collab, stating, "Gundam’s been a major influence on culture and games, but it’s also had a big influence on many of our artists... This was a passion project for us, and for some of our team members, it was a bucket list moment." The team even bought Gunpla kits to ensure authenticity in the skin designs, resulting in incredible attention to detail.
Limited Time Only!
The Overwatch 2 x Gundam Wing event runs from April 29 to May 12. Don't miss your chance to earn free rewards and purchase these amazing mech-inspired skins. Will we see more Gundam collaborations in the future? Only time will tell, but imagine a Gundam Aerial Symmetra skin!
