This May marks the final month of the Might and Mastery season, and Niantic is pulling out all the stops to cap it off with a bang. From the regal Crown Clash event introducing Kingambit to the appearance of Dynamax Suicune in Max Battles, there's something for every trainer to get excited about.
Crown Clash Event: A Royal Rumble
From May 10-18, 2025, the Crown Clash event will bring a touch of royalty to Pokémon GO. The highlight? The debut of Kingambit! To add this powerful Pokémon to your roster, you'll need to set Bisharp as your buddy and defeat 15 dark- or steel-type Pokémon. Keep an eye out for Pokémon with royal evolved forms like Slowpoke, Piplup, and Snivy, which will appear more frequently in the wild. Special crown-wearing variants of Nidoqueen and Nidoking will also be available in three-star raids. Double XP for evolving Pokémon adds a sweet bonus to this royal celebration.
Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend: A Watery Challenge
Prepare to face a formidable opponent during the Dynamax Suicune Max Battle Weekend from May 10-11, 2025. This event marks the first appearance of Dynamax Suicune in Pokémon GO. Trainers can participate in Max Battles at Power Spots to challenge this legendary Pokémon. Plus, collect up to 1,600 Max Particles and receive eight times the usual amount from Power Spots!
Pawmi Community Day: An Electrifying Event
Mark your calendars for May 11, 2025, because it's Pawmi Community Day! From 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time, Pawmi will be appearing in the wild more frequently than usual. This is a prime opportunity to stock up on Pawmi Candy and potentially encounter a shiny variant. Evolving Pawmo into Pawmot during the event will unlock the exclusive charge attack Brick Break.
Other Exciting Events
The action doesn't stop there! May also features the Growing Up event (May 2-7), focusing on Pokémon that evolve into powerful forms. Mega Kangaskhan will star in a Raid Day on May 3rd. Team GO Rocket will be attempting a takeover during a second Crown Clash event in May 14-18, and Shadow Regigigas will appear as a Shadow Raid Boss on May 17th. The month closes with a Gigantamax Machamp Max Battle Day on May 25th.
Spotlight Hours and Raids
Don't miss the weekly Spotlight Hours every Tuesday from 6-7 PM local time. May's featured Pokémon include Furfrou, Sandygast, Poochyena, and Golett. Raids will also be rotating, with Tapu Fini, Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie, and Tapu Bulu appearing in five-star Raids throughout the month. Shadow Regirock will also appear in Shadow Raids every weekend.
