Pokémon Go’s Serene Retreat: Challenges, Rewards, and Gigantamax Rillaboom Debut!

Pokémon Go players, get ready for the Serene Retreat event, a global tie-in leading up to Go Fest 2025: Osaka! Even if you can't be there in person, there's plenty to enjoy, including Collection Challenges, the debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom, and special research tasks.

The Serene Retreat, running until Tuesday, June 3rd, at 8pm local time, brings a host of bonuses. One of the most exciting features is the debut of Gigantamax Rillaboom in Max Battles, available from Saturday, May 31st, at 6am to Sunday, June 1st, at 9pm (local time). Collection Challenges are a key part of the event. Three challenges are available: Dream Catcher, Cutie Collector, and Floating Wonders. Each challenge requires catching or hatching specific Pokémon to earn rewards. For instance:

• Dream Catcher: Catch Morelull, Hatenna, Komala, and Snorlax.
• Cutie Collector: Catch Cutiefly, Marill, Chansey, and Chimecho.
• Floating Wonders: Hatch Munna, Chingling, Swirlix, and Spritzee from event-exclusive 2km eggs. It's important to note that only Pokémon hatched from eggs during the event count towards the Floating Wonders challenge.

Participating in the Serene Retreat Field Research can also lead to exciting encounters. Tasks include catching 10 Pokémon, catching 5 different species, hatching an egg, and spinning 5 PokéStops or Gyms. Rewards range from Cutiefly and Morelull to Munna and Komala encounters.

Event Bonuses:

• Halved hatch distance for eggs placed in Incubators.
• 1.5x Hatch XP
• Increased Max Particle collection limit.
• Increased chance of hatching shiny Munna and encountering shiny Morelull.

A paid Timed Research ticket, priced at $1.99, offers even more rewards, including Super Incubators and encounters with Munna and Morelull, offering an increased chance to find shiny versions.

Wild Spawns & Egg Hatches: During the Serene Retreat, keep an eye out for increased spawns of Pokémon like Chansey, Snorlax, Marill, Chimecho, Furfrou, Cutiefly, Morelull, Komala, and Hatenna. 2km eggs collected during the event have a greater chance of hatching Chingling, Munna, Spritzee, and Swirlix.

And don't forget about the regular raid schedule! June 2025 brings a new lineup of Legendary and Mega Raids, including the return of Gen 3 Legendaries Groudon and Kyogre, and Mega Evolutions like Altaria and Abomasnow. Plus, Shadow Regice will be appearing in 5-star Shadow Raids every weekend.
