Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7: Leaks Hint at Slimmer Designs, Improved Batteries, and Familiar Specs

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7: Leaks Hint at Slimmer Designs, Improved Batteries, and Familiar Specs

Samsung is gearing up to launch its next generation of foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, with rumors swirling about their design, specs, and release date. While the new devices are expected to hit the shelves soon, leaks suggest a mix of exciting improvements and surprisingly familiar features. Could the Flip 7 FE simply be a rebranded Flip 6?

Production of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 has reportedly commenced, aligning with Samsung's planned timeline. However, lowered production targets indicate a cautious approach, as the foldable market hasn't quite met initial sales expectations. Samsung aims to manufacture three million Flip 7 units and two million Fold 7 units, a notable decrease from the previous generation.

One of the most intriguing rumors surrounds the Galaxy Z Fold 7's potential slimness. Leaks suggest it could be an astonishingly thin 3.9mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded, surpassing previous estimations and potentially making it the thinnest foldable on the market. Further fueling excitement, the Z Fold 7 is rumored to pack a 4,400mAh battery with new battery and charging tech, possibly leading to improved battery life and faster charging speeds compared to its predecessor.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is also expected to receive a battery boost, with rumors pointing toward a 4,300mAh unit, an upgrade from the Flip 6's 4,000mAh battery.

However, not all news is groundbreaking. A recent leak regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE suggests a strikingly similar spec sheet to the Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to the leak, the Flip7 FE will feature a 6.7-inch internal folding screen, a 3.4-inch cover display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with 12GB of RAM, a 50MP main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP selfie snapper. All cameras will support 4K60 recording, and it includes a 4,000 mAh battery. Furthermore, an IP48 certification for dust and water resistance is included. Priced under €1,000, it raises questions about Samsung's strategy. Is it simply a Flip 6 under a new name, potentially rendered obsolete by existing Flip 6 deals?

The processor choice for the Galaxy Z Flip 7 remains uncertain, with both Snapdragon and Exynos variants under consideration. Meanwhile, whispers suggest the entire Galaxy S26 series will continue the trend of slim designs.

With the anticipated unveiling of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 in July, speculation is rife. Will the slim designs and battery improvements be enough to entice consumers, or will the potential similarity of the Flip7 FE overshadow the advancements?
