Shiny Gimmighoul Alert! Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Golden Week Event is Live
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet players, get ready to hunt! A special Golden Week event is underway, bringing increased chances to snag some rare Shiny Pokémon. This event focuses on Mass Outbreaks and Tera Raids featuring some popular Pokémon, giving trainers a prime opportunity to expand their Shiny collection.
The star of the show is undoubtedly Chest Form Gimmighoul. While normally elusive and unable to be Shiny in regular gameplay, this event offers a rare chance to encounter and catch a Shiny Gimmighoul in Tera Raids. From April 29th to May 8th, trainers can participate in Tera Raids where Chest Form Gimmighoul will appear, and specifically the 5-star raids will have the chance to be Shiny.
But that's not all! Alongside the Gimmighoul raids, the Golden Week event also features Mass Outbreaks of Wiglett, Growlithe, and Swablu. Each of these Pokémon also has an increased chance of being Shiny during these outbreaks. The event coincides with Japan's annual Golden Week, a period of public and national holidays.
Shiny Hunting Tips:
- Prioritize 5-Star Tera Raids: If you're laser-focused on getting a Shiny Gimmighoul, focus on 5-star Tera Raids as only those have a chance to be Shiny.
- Prepare for Different Tera Types: Chest Form Gimmighoul will appear with different Tera types, so be ready to adjust your team accordingly. Pokémon like Ursaluna, Bisharp, and Kingambit are generally recommended as strong counters, but always check the Tera Type before heading into battle.
- Shiny Sandwiches: Use a Shiny Sandwich with the Sparkling Power buff to further boost your odds of finding Shiny Pokémon during Mass Outbreaks.
The odds of finding a Shiny Chest Form Gimmighoul are still relatively slim, estimated at 1/4102, but it's a significantly better chance than during normal gameplay.
