Street Fighter 6: Elena’s Early Arrival, New Challenger Screens, and World Tour Integration
Street Fighter 6 fans, get ready! Elena, the capoeira fighter, is arriving sooner than expected, bringing a flurry of updates and exciting additions to the game. Thanks to time zone differences, North American players will gain access to Elena and the Street Fighter 6 Years 1-2 Fighters Edition on June 4th, a day ahead of the previously announced June 5th release date. This early debut marks the beginning of Season 3, promising significant changes and fresh content for the popular fighting game.
The Street Fighter team announced the news via Twitter, stating, "3 DAYS until Elena shows you the meaning of life! That's right! Elena is coming one day earlier on June 4 owing to the Fighters Edition release time zone differences!"
But Elena's arrival is not the only highlight. On June 5th, alongside the character's release and the game's debut on the Nintendo Switch 2, Street Fighter 6 will introduce new challenger screen options and illustrations to customize the online matching experience. Players can select the "Vs." option for a side-by-side display of their and their opponent's choices.
Capcom will also release new character illustrations from Himeika, allowing players to personalize their challenger screens further. According to a tweet, VS Type layout and Sound Priority features will be added in Challenge Customization options on June 5!
For those eager to integrate Elena into their World Tour experience, Capcom has detailed the steps to unlock her as a master. First, players must complete Chapter 7-2 of the main story. Afterwards, by heading to their Hangout and choosing the new Animal Paradise location at her new Reniala Remains stage to undertake new missions, learn her fighting style, and acquire her special moves for their custom avatar. Maxing out Elena's mastery level even unlocks her classic Outfit 2 from Street Fighter 3 without spending Fighter Coins.
The Season 3 update also brings gameplay changes, including alterations to Perfect Parries and adjustments to throw teching mechanics. A Street Fighter 6 2nd Anniversary event is also planned.
