Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4: Bam Margera’s Triumphant Return and Gameplay Overhaul

Get ready to grind! Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is shaping up to be more than just a fresh coat of paint on classic games. With a release date slated for July 11, 2025, the remake is generating significant buzz, not only for its updated graphics and gameplay but also for the dramatic story surrounding the inclusion of one of its most iconic skaters: Bam Margera.

Initially absent from the roster, Bam Margera’s return to THPS 3 + 4 was secured after Tony Hawk himself reportedly intervened. According to The Nine Club skating podcast, Hawk insisted on Margera's inclusion, prompting Activision to bring Margera in for body scanning even after development had seemingly concluded. This move underscores the importance of Margera's contribution to the series and assures fans that the remake will stay true to its roots.

A video posted on social media officially confirmed Margera's return as a Secret Skater. The video features behind-the-scenes footage of Margera being scanned into the game, along with a brief interview where he reminisces about his obsession with the second Tony Hawk game. "The second Tony Hawk game, I was so obsessed with playing [the game] that I was missing flights over it," says Margera, highlighting the deep connection he has with the franchise.

Hawk explained his advocacy for Margera's inclusion in an interview with Screen Rant, stating, "It would be a disservice to have Bam out of it." Hawk emphasized Margera's iconic status within the series and his significant presence in the later games. This decision reflects a commitment to celebrating the history of the game and ensuring a more complete and faithful remaster.

Beyond the excitement surrounding Margera's return, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is also overhauling its gameplay. Players will now have the option to extend the default two-minute timer to a full hour. This change addresses concerns from fans of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4's mission-based structure, allowing for a more relaxed and exploratory experience across the game's larger maps. While the core objectives remain, players can now tackle them at their own pace, harking back to the original game's feel.

With the release date fast approaching, the anticipation for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is reaching fever pitch. Will the gameplay tweaks enhance the classic experience? And what secrets will players uncover as they unlock Bam Margera?
