GR Supra A90 Final Edition: A Culmination of Performance

The GR Supra A90 Final Edition represents the peak of the current generation. Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) has poured its motorsports expertise into this limited edition, pushing the boundaries of performance. With 441 DIN hp and 571 Nm of torque, this special edition boasts significant power gains compared to the standard model. The A90 Final Edition also features upgraded driving-related elements, including aerodynamic enhancements, a racing-inspired KW suspension system, and wider rear tires. The Akrapovič titanium muffler ensures a more stirring and powerful engine sound. Production is limited to just 300 examples worldwide, making it a true collector's item.

GR Supra Lightweight EVO: Enhanced Handling and Bold Design

For drivers seeking a more direct connection to the road, the GR Supra Lightweight EVO delivers improved handling and a bolder appearance. Suspension and chassis upgrades, better braking, optimized tuning, and refined aerodynamics contribute to a more precise driving experience. The Lightweight EVO features a ducktail carbon-fiber rear spoiler, new front wheel arch flaps, and higher front tyre spats for optimized aerodynamic balance. Inside, RECARO Podium CF full-bucket seats provide optimal support during spirited driving. This edition brings the driver closer to the road, creating a more engaging driving experience.

End of Production and a Glimpse into the Future

While the GR Supra A90 Final Edition and Lightweight EVO are exciting additions to the lineup, Toyota has confirmed that production of the current GR Supra will cease in Spring 2026. According to reports, the high cost of upgrades needed to meet new global regulations made it "not cost-effective" to continue production. However, there is hope for Supra enthusiasts. Toyota executives have hinted at a next-generation Supra, although details remain scarce. A senior Vice President mentioned that there is likely to be a time gap between the two Supra generations, however, it will be shorter than it was previously. It is undetermined if Toyota will collaborate with BMW to develop the next Supra, as it did for the current GR model.

A Legacy of Performance

The Toyota Supra has a rich history, spanning five generations since its introduction in 1978. From its origins as a longer, more powerful version of the Celica to its evolution as a standalone sports car, the Supra has captivated drivers with its performance, handling, and distinctive design. Its presence in motorsports, including the FIA World Rally Championship and Japanese GT racing, has further solidified its legendary status. The GR Supra marked a triumphant return after a 17-year absence, continuing the Supra legacy with its blend of power and agility.
